Your Yoga Teachers
Yoga teacher, retreat leader, owner and co-founder of Oneworld Retreats Iyan Yaspriyana lives his life with passion. He has no doubts that he will reach his dreams and is using many tools and techniques to make them come true.
Iyan was trained and certified as a yoga teacher in 2001 by LouisaSear, owner of the Australian Yoga Arts School. Originally biology teacher in Jakarta, Iyan moved to Bali in the late ’90s and founded the Indonesia Language Teaching programme for the expat community. But yoga and leading retreats soon became his full-time life.
Iyan’s method of teaching yoga reflects his view of life—one moment at a time and continually evolving. He is very happy to share his vast knowledge and life experience.
Wayan is a lover of yoga, dance, and Kirtan. He completed his yoga teacher training with Yoga Arts—a Yoga Alliance Accredited teacher training—in 2010 and is a certified yoga teacher.
Wayan is the principal yoga teacher at Oneworld Ayurveda, leading the daily sessions as well as the one-on-one yoga classes and taking care of the spiritual rituals. He has developed a very special style of teaching, based on Hatha flow that brings harmony, ease and balance to the mind and body. Wayan’s background in Balinese dance has guided him to develop a most unique yoga practice.
Born and raised within a community deeply rooted in Balinese culture, Wayan lives a rather busy traditional village life. When not guiding practitioners of all levels on the mat, he is committed and involved in regular Hindu ceremonies and has four vibrant children that keep him well-occupied!
Komang Desiani or Desy was born in a small village near the beach in East Bali to a family of farmers. She grew up being in nature and familiarising herself with the Balinese traditions.
Her yoga journey started when she was going through a difficult patch in her life and noticed how the practice helped her get along. She has been practicing intensively since 2014, expanding her knowledge by learning the yoga philosophy, including its supporting elements—Meditation, Pranayama, Kriya, Ayurveda, and Sanskrit.
Desy is a big fan of yoga festivals and likes to experience many different yoga styles. Committed to going deeper into yoga, she took the Local Yoga Teacher Training and then decided to leave her thirteen years’ career in education to fulfill her passion for yoga. In 2019, Desy finished her Yoga Teacher Training with the famous Louisa Sear of the Yoga Arts.
She believes that the best job is when we can do what we love while making other people smile with happiness. Improving her competence and serving from the heart is part of her commitment.
